Could there be a better day to celebrate than International Donut Day? Miss 7 didn't think so. She celebrated up a storm with all things donut for her birthday.
There were iced ones, plain ones, mini ones and jam filled ones; cookie ones, cake pop ones and decorative garland ones to boot.
The Donut Garland was the star of the show made by stringing mini donuts onto one of our Tissue Garland Kits...edible decorations!
The giant cake was a vanilla sponge with white choc ganache topped with more donuts of course. For an extra chocolate hit we had rich choc truffle cake pops dressed up like donuts and topped with all our favourite sprinkles.
Donut cookies were in order of course. I like to use a simple vanilla cookie recipe. (see separate blog post). It holds its shape perfectly and couldn't be easier to whip up. You can get your sprinkle on decorating these little guys mixing and matching to your hearts content.
Such a simple and sweet theme for little ones and big kids alike!
